CHALLENGE:

The steel frame deck, situated on the second story with a significant drop-off and no external access, required a thoughtful solution to provide shade and comfort while complementing the home’s aesthetic. The installation of the second-story pergola required coordination with the home builders and other trades to complete the new deck and pergola in the proper stages.

The decking had to be installed first, which required precise scheduling to ensure the pergola materials could be transported through the house before its completion. Additionally, the pergola design had to wrap around a bump out of the house, requiring meticulous integration with the house layout. The custom-made railing was installed after the pergola posts were in place. The extensive coordination among various contractors was crucial to ensure everything was tied together seamlessly, resulting in a beautiful and functional outdoor space.

The adjustable louvers provide the versatility to let in the sunlight, or completely close out the rain and still enjoy the outdoors comfortably.
