CHALLENGE:
The raised deck was designed with an angled corner to avoid a walkway on one side of the house. The existing deck had a black railing surrounding the area, which required the custom pergola installation to fit within the confined space. The pergola required a custom design to match the angled corner, including special brackets and custom-angled louvers. The louvers had to fit the angled corner with the same functionality and aesthetics.
The low roofline of the home required the pergola to be mounted to the roof and anchored into the house rafters for a higher profile. Extra posts were needed to ensure stability.
